Welcome Back
In this month’s newsletter edition, we welcome back students and faculty to a new school year, the Friends of Ryan Annual Golf Outing, highlight our integrated Donation Gateway, Spirit of Ryan nominations, GK4 Foundation celebration, several school hosted events and much more.
Welcome Back
The Friends of Ryan along with fellow Alumni would like to welcome back the students, faculty and administrators to a new school year at Archbishop Ryan High School. It is with great pleasure to announce our incoming freshmen join the ranks within Ryan as the largest incoming class this year within the Archdiocese which is a testament to the educational benefits, support and growth our students receive at Archbishop Ryan. Our seniors, the Class of 2023, kicked off the school year with a Senior Sunrise to commemorate their last first day of school at Archbishop Ryan. The administration, along with several Alumni groups, have worked diligently over the summer break to make various improvements to the campus and raise funds towards tuitions assistance, programs and capital improvements. We wish you the best in the upcoming year. #WeAreAR

Friends of Ryan Donation Gateway
As we continue to enhance our technology suite, we are happy to announce the Friends of Ryan Donation Gateway. Found on the upper right-hand corner of the Friends of Ryan website, www.friendsofryanalumni.org, utilizing the Donate button, the Friends of Ryan Donation Gateway is an integrated portal that allows donors to selectively contribute to the students of Archbishop Ryan by directing gifts which are most meaningful to you.
The Donation Gateway aligns with the mission of the Friends of Ryan by ensuring the future growth and stability of Archbishop Ryan through Tuition Assistance, Programs, and Capital Improvements.
The Friends of Ryan Donation Gateway supports gifts from Archbishop Ryan’s loyal alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends. These contributions strengthen and support nearly every facet of our high school from the expansion of our academic programs to the enhancement of our athletic facilities or helping with our operational expenses. However, the biggest impact of your support is on our students!
Along with several cornerstone areas of focus such as the General Fund, Academics, Tuition Assistance and Capital Improvements, the Friends of Ryan also collaborates with several athletic programs such as the Baseball Team, Girls’ Flag Football and the Girls’ Basketball Team to drive funding to these specific programs. As we continue to expand to other programs, the ability to donate to other programs will be available in the future.
Transparency is the key. As an IRS recognized nonprofit 501(c)(3), our organization is held to a high standard or accountability and reporting. All funds donated through the Friends of Ryan Donation Gateway are allocated directly to the area or program selected.
Spirit of Ryan Awards

Special Thanks to Ed Bond of Philly Beer Baron for his generosity and especially kindness in supporting the organization and the memory of Georgie.
The George P. Karusky, IV Memorial Foundation (https://gk4foindation.org) was created from overflowing love for “Georgie” who passed away suddenly on April 23, 2020. Georgie was a loving son, grandson, nephew, cousin, sweetheart to Samantha, friend to many and best friend to the lucky few! He was a proud Archbishop Ryan Raider, Class of 2020, three-sport athlete. People were drawn to Georgie, he was kind, easy going, hilarious, and loyal. To honor Georgie, one of his closest friends, Steven Neilson, started a fundraiser to collect money for the installation of a stained-glass window in the chapel of Archbishop Ryan High School. At the request of Georgie’s dad, all excess monies would be put towards scholarships. Through the outpouring of support and generous giving of the community, the collection well surpassed the goal of the stained-glass window installation! Additionally, the Archbishop Ryan High School Family and Leadership joined the quest to raise funds. Their goal also exceeded expectations! With overwhelming generosity and support from many collectively, the GK4 Foundation was created. The George Karusky, IV Memorial Foundation is a legacy fund that will help children for generations to come. The GK4 Foundation will provide opportunities for children in multiple ways while supporting the community at the same time. Your support will be the cornerstone of the success of the foundation, and we will be forever grateful. It should also be said that 100% of all funds collected will go to put smiles on children’s faces as Georgie always did in more ways than one.
